Wow what a gem! Been driving by this place for year on way to the beach. We decided to stop here for breakfast great choices on the menu. Nice cozy seating next to the fireplace place is nice all the way around and they have a great little gift shop. Waitress and staff were very attentive and their coffee is great!

I never go to the beach without stopping here! Fabulous comfort food. Warm, scenic, historic environment! Great service. Also, great for photo opportunities with family and/or friends. I you are heading towards Seaside or Cannon Beach, you are really missing something if you don't stop here!

Hands down a very nice place to stop and eat. A lot of history here. The food was great, the service super, the atmosphere the tops. Huge log cabin, old pics on the wall. Next time we're down in the area definitely will be back

Love this place. Always a stop on the way to Seaside! Love their chowder. The atmosphere in here is really fun. You can get a siding of Bigfoot down by the creek. Stop in and enjoy a nice lunch or dinner and the ambience. There is a little gift shop that has a lot of cute little treasures

Not actually in Seaside, it's 18 miles (thus the name) up the highway towards Portland. If you've already left the coast and don't want to wait till you get to Hillsboro, which is a long drive, to eat, this is your only choice. And it's not a bad choice. It's a huge lodge-like restaurant with a basic American menu. You have the option of a starch side with your entree, and it also comes unannounced with vegetable, which in this case was green beans with a lot of bacon in them, quite delicious. So was my entree, which was breaded trout. Service was a little iffy. The waitress who seated me and took my order was competent but age had slowed down her response time and speed of comprehension. However, another younger and brisker waitress also showed up and took care of other things for me.

Service has improved drastically but you can still feel the unwelcoming feeling due to the difference in the quality of service between them talking to Caucasian customers and me, you can see them smiling from ear to ear when they're serving the white Caucasian customers and that feeling you get when they are barely smiling and they're standing like they're about to piss their pants attitude! I talked to the woman who is the owner I think? She said that it's really hard to hire good people because they're located so far away from either Hillsboro or Seaside, so they're offering incentives of free lodging, a rent free housing for their employees. The short younger heavyset waitress there is very nice as she treated everything with same level of service with a smile and very friendly too, the thin older woman wearing a bandanna to hold her hair should not be allowed to work in food service! The thirty something looking waiter shows his emotions instantly! I had to tell him to walk away and I had to ask for a different person to take my order!

Fun place to eat with simple wholesome meals offered. Breakfast menu served until 2pm. Service was great with just enough check ups to keep our table happy. Wife had the French dip with crunchy fries. I had the county steak (breaded portion of round steak) with mashed potatoes and gravy making everything happy! Log buildings are a work of art and the logging history is nice to share. We forget Oregon's trees farms are a huge source of our economy.

We stopped here and had the absolute best time. The service was kind and quick. I had a full pot of coffee to myself. The beautiful space has views of the river in some seats or you get to enjoy all the trappings of this rustic lodge like setting. The food is fairly priced and the portions are hearty. I saw three grown men leave with take home boxes. I ordered the biscuits and gravy- perhaps it could have used more seasoning but that's why they stock Tabasco.
